Customs authorities in Karachi have successfully seized 10,000 smuggled mobile phones worth approximately Rs. 30 million in a major crackdown against illegal trade.
According to officials, the operation was carried out based on intelligence reports, leading to the interception of a consignment of high-end smartphones being smuggled into the country. The seized phones were being transported without proper documentation, evading customs duties and taxes.
Authorities have launched an investigation to identify the smugglers involved in the illegal network. This seizure is part of an ongoing effort by customs and law enforcement agencies to curb the influx of smuggled goods, which negatively impacts the local economy and legal importers.
Further legal action is expected against those responsible for the smuggling attempt.
