On Monday, a massive convoy of 120 trucks successfully reached Parachinar, bringing much-needed food, medicine, and essential supplies. The convoy departed from Thall in Hangu under strict security measures and managed to arrive at its destination safely, as confirmed by Hangu’s District Police Officer (DPO).
In a related development, a grand Jirga was held in Lower Kurram to discuss the security situation in the district. Elders from the region attended the meeting, but it was reported that elders from Upper Kurram declined to participate. In light of this, the administration is considering organizing a separate Jirga to engage with those who were not part of the initial consultations.
The district administration reassured the public that police and other law enforcement agencies are currently maintaining security in the area. Additionally, security forces remain on standby to respond to any potential incidents.
The administration also expressed hope that the process of demolishing bunkers in the area would resume soon, further contributing to the region’s stability and safety.
