In a significant crackdown against vehicle theft, the Islamabad Capital Police has successfully recovered 20 stolen vehicles worth Rs90 million and returned them to their rightful owners.
According to a public relations officer, the Anti-Vehicle Lifting Unit (AVLU) arrested 12 members of four criminal gangs operating across Islamabad, Rawalpindi, and Sindh.
During a press conference at Police Lines Headquarters on Saturday, SSP Operations Muhammad Shoaib Khan revealed that the suspects primarily targeted older model vehicles. “These criminals used master keys and broke window glasses to steal cars,” he stated.
SSP Shoaib confirmed that all recovered vehicles had been handed over to their owners, and legal proceedings against the arrested suspects were underway. “We have solid evidence against them, and they will face strict legal action,” he added.
He further emphasized the Islamabad Police’s commitment to maintaining law and order, stating, “We will not tolerate land grabbing or criminal activities in the federal capital.”
The crackdown is part of the police’s broader efforts to curb vehicle theft and dismantle organized crime networks in the city.
