The Education Department of Balochistan has officially announced the winter vacation schedule for schools and colleges across the province, with adjustments based on regional climate conditions.
According to a notification issued on Saturday, educational institutions in cold regions of Balochistan will observe an extended winter break from December 16, 2024, to February 28, 2025, spanning a total of 65 days.
Meanwhile, schools and colleges in warmer regions of the province will observe a shorter winter vacation from January 1 to January 10, 2025.
The decision was made in response to the dropping temperatures in the region and is aimed at ensuring the safety and well-being of students during the harsh winter months. Meteorologists have predicted a further decline in temperatures, with mountainous areas likely to experience sub-zero conditions.
The announcement aligns with measures taken in other provinces. In Punjab, the Education Department has declared winter vacations from December 20, 2024, to January 10, 2025, providing students with a 20-day break.
Parents and school administrations across Balochistan have welcomed the decision, recognizing the importance of adjusting the academic calendar to suit the region’s seasonal needs.
