In a recent operation conducted by security forces in the border district of Chagai, 85 Afghan nationals were apprehended for illegally crossing into Pakistan, officials reported on Monday.
The individuals were discovered on the Pakistani side of the border lacking proper travel documentation, raising concerns over their motives for entering the country unlawfully. Preliminary investigations suggest that the Afghan nationals intended to traverse into Iran for undisclosed purposes.
A senior security official affirmed the arrest of the individuals, emphasizing their handover to the Levies force for further interrogation. Authorities reiterated their commitment to following due process, indicating that the detainees would undergo legal procedures before deportation.
Levies Force officials disclosed plans for the deportation process, revealing that the Afghan nationals would be repatriated through the Baracha crossing gate on the Pak-Afghan border following the completion of necessary formalities.
The incident underscores the ongoing challenges faced by security forces in monitoring and regulating border activities, highlighting the importance of bolstering border security measures to deter illegal crossings and maintain regional stability.
