Today, Pakistan solemnly observed the martyrdom anniversary of Pilot Officer Rashid Minhas, marking 53 years since his courageous sacrifice. The day was filled with tributes and remembrance ceremonies honoring the bravery of this esteemed national hero.
Pilot Officer Rashid Minhas is celebrated for his valiant actions during the 1971 Indo-Pakistani War. At just 22 years old, he displayed extraordinary bravery by thwarting a hijacking attempt on his aircraft. Faced with a dire situation, Minhas’s decisive actions led to the plane crashing, thereby preventing a significant security threat and thwarting the hijackers’ plans.
