Apple has confirmed the date for its highly anticipated annual iPhone-centric event, which this year is themed “It’s Glowtime.” The tech giant announced on Monday that the event will be held on September 9 at the Apple Park campus in Cupertino, California, starting at 10 a.m. Pacific Standard Time. Fans and tech enthusiasts are eagerly awaiting the unveiling of Apple’s latest lineup of devices.
At this year’s event, Apple is expected to introduce the iPhone 16 series, alongside new models of the Apple Watch and the AirPods 4. According to MacRumors, the company will also provide details on the official launch dates for iOS 18, macOS Sequoia, and other forthcoming software updates.
The iPhone 16 lineup is anticipated to feature several exciting updates. All four new models will reportedly include a customizable Action Button and a new Capture Button designed specifically for photography. The Capture Button, positioned on the right side of the devices just below the power button, will offer built-in gestures such as a swipe for zooming and a soft press for autofocus.
The entire iPhone 16 series will be powered by the new A18 chip, enhancing compatibility with Apple Intelligence features set to debut with iOS 18. While the standard iPhone 16 models are expected to maintain their current design, the Pro lineup will see a significant upgrade in display size, increasing from 6.1 and 6.7 inches to 6.3 and 6.9 inches for the Pro and Pro Max models, respectively. Both Pro versions will also feature the 5x Telephoto zoom option, previously exclusive to the Pro Max.
The event will be streamed live on Apple’s website, YouTube, and the Apple TV app, allowing viewers worldwide to join in on the excitement and witness the latest innovations from the tech leader.
