The Peshawar administration has announced a six-month ban on kite and pigeon flying, the use of laser beam lights, and aerial firing within the vicinity of the Pakistan Air Force (PAF) Base and PAF Camp Badabir. This decision was made to ensure the safety of aircraft during takeoff and landing operations.
The ban, which comes into immediate effect, was imposed by Additional Home Chief Secretary and Tribal Affairs Department Abid Majeed under Section 144 of the Criminal Procedure Code (CrPC). The prohibition also extends to the flying and selling of quadcopters and pigeons in the restricted area.
According to the notification issued on Friday, violators of this ban will be prosecuted under Section 188 of the CrPC, which pertains to disobedience to an order duly promulgated by a public servant. The stringent measures are aimed at safeguarding the airspace around the PAF installations, thereby preventing any incidents that could endanger lives and property.
This move underscores the administration’s commitment to maintaining strict security protocols in areas surrounding critical defense infrastructure.
