A disturbing incident occurred in Punjab where a female polio vaccination team from the Punjab Health Department was allegedly assaulted and robbed by employees of the Cantonment Board Chaklala. According to the FIR lodged by Khadija Bibi with the Civil Lines police, the health department team was carrying out their duties of administering polio drops when they were attacked. After completing their task, the team returned to the Chaklala Cantonment Medical Center in Dehri Hassanabad.
Upon arrival, Khadija Bibi reported that around 40 employees of the Cantonment Board Chaklala forcibly entered the health team’s storeroom. They confiscated various belongings, including polio vaccines, a bag containing Rs15,000 in cash, and personal medicines.
