Users in Pakistan are facing outages on WhatsApp and Instagram, as reported by Downdetector.
On Saturday, WhatsApp issues began around 10:45 AM, primarily impacting the sending of voice notes. Instagram users also experienced significant disruptions, peaking at 86 outages within an hour.
Correspondents in major cities, including Karachi and Lahore, have confirmed difficulties with mobile internet services from providers like Zong and PTCL. The Pakistan Telecommunications Authority (PTA) has not yet commented on these outages. This comes amid previous warnings that internet speeds could remain slow until early October due to issues with two international submarine cables connecting Pakistan.
The situation highlights ongoing connectivity challenges for users in the region.
