In a recent advisory, Saudi Arabia has urged Umrah pilgrims to practice physical distancing to ensure the safety of all worshippers at the Grand Mosque in Mecca. The Ministry of Hajj emphasized the importance of avoiding overcrowding to prevent the spread of contagious diseases during the pilgrimage.
Pilgrims are reminded to wear facemasks and stay hydrated while participating in rituals. These measures are part of ongoing efforts to maintain a safe environment as the pilgrimage season approaches.
In addition to health protocols, the government has implemented policies to enhance accessibility for pilgrims, including an extension of the Umrah visa to 90 days and relaxed regulations for female participants. Muslims with various visas can now also perform Umrah and visit the Prophet’s Mosque in Medina, making it easier for worshippers to undertake their spiritual journeys.
Authorities continue to prioritize the health and well-being of all attendees, ensuring a safe and fulfilling experience during the pilgrimage.
