Imran Khan’s Sisters Remanded, Arrest Warrants Issued for KP CM and PTI Leader in Terrorism Case

Aleema and Uzma Khan Presented After Completing Initial Physical Remand

An anti-terrorism court has remanded former prime minister and PTI founder Imran Khan’s sisters, Aleema Khan and Uzma Khan, into police custody for an additional physical remand, while arrest warrants were issued for Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Chief Minister Ali Amin Gandapur and PTI leader Amir Mughal in the same case.

Aleema and Uzma were presented in court after completing their initial one-day physical remand. The court proceedings, led by Judge Tahir Abbas Supra, revolved around the terrorism charges registered at Kohsar Police Station. The courtroom was cleared of unrelated persons before PTI’s lawyer, Niazullah Niazi, presented his arguments.

Niazi highlighted that his clients had received a copy of the First Information Report (FIR) via WhatsApp only a day earlier. He contested the legality of Aleema and Uzma’s arrest on October 4, stating that they were not brought before the court until October 6. “This arrest has become illegal,” Niazi argued, as he read from the case details.

Advocate Ali Bukhari questioned the presence of any recovered evidence. Judge Supra sought clarification from the prosecutor, Raja Naveed, who confirmed that nothing had been recovered at the scene. Despite this, Bukhari pressed for the discharge of Aleema and Uzma from the case.

The prosecutor maintained that their remand was necessary for technical investigation rather than physical evidence recovery. Aleema Khan took the stand, describing their 10-hour detainment at a police station before being transferred to the police lines. She also expressed concern for two elderly women arrested with them who had fallen ill.

The court reserved its judgment on the remand request, later granting a one-day extension for Aleema and Uzma. Meanwhile, Asad Qaiser’s brother, Adnan Khan, was remanded for seven days.

In a related development, arrest warrants were issued for Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Chief Minister Ali Amin Gandapur and PTI leader Amir Mughal in connection with the same terrorism case. The warrants stem from charges registered at Kohsar Police Station.
