The Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) is gearing up to announce the new captain and the national white-ball squads for the upcoming tour of Australia within the next few days.
Sources indicate that consultations with selectors regarding potential players are ongoing, and the final roster will be confirmed after receiving approval from the PCB Chairman. Mohammad Rizwan is currently a top contender to replace Babar Azam as the team’s captain for the tour. Meanwhile, key players such as Babar Azam, Shaheen Shah Afridi, and Naseem Shah are expected to make their return to the squad.
The Pakistani team is set to depart for Melbourne on October 29. Upon their arrival, they will begin preparations with training sessions at the renowned Melbourne Cricket Ground (MCG) on November 1 and 2, with an optional session on November 3.
The first One Day International (ODI) between Pakistan and Australia is scheduled for November 4 at the MCG. The selection committee, consisting of Aqib Javed, Azhar Ali, Aleem Dar, Asad Shafiq, and Hasan Cheema, is currently evaluating players for the three ODIs and three T20 Internationals set to take place in Australia.
