In a landmark move to empower the farming community, Chief Minister Punjab has launched the “Kisan Card” scheme, allotting an impressive Rs. 400 billion budget aimed at transforming the agricultural landscape of Punjab.
Under the Kisan Card initiative, farmers will gain direct access to subsidies, agricultural loans, and technical support to enhance productivity and manage resources more efficiently. The card provides financial assistance for purchasing high-quality seeds, fertilizers, and essential farming equipment, marking a significant step towards modernizing agriculture in the province.
The initiative is designed to help small and medium-scale farmers improve crop yields, reduce input costs, and compete in broader markets. CM Punjab emphasized that the Kisan Card would facilitate digital payments, ensuring transparency and streamlined support distribution.
“Our farmers are the backbone of Punjab’s economy, and the Kisan Card will provide them with the necessary resources to thrive,” said the CM.
