Bollywood superstar Salman Khan has reportedly received a new death threat from the notorious Bishnoi gang, demanding either a public apology at the Bishnoi community’s temple or a payment of approximately $0.59 million (around 5 crores in Indian Rupees). This alarming development comes as Indian media outlets report that the police have been alerted about a threatening message sent by an individual claiming to be Lawrence Bishnoi’s brother.
According to the received message, the gang warns that if Khan wishes to remain unharmed, he must either seek forgiveness at the Bishnoi temple or pay the substantial ransom. The sender asserted that refusal to comply would result in violent repercussions, emphasizing the gang’s continued activity.
The threatening message, delivered via WhatsApp to Indian Police late last night, marks the second such threat directed at the Bollywood star. Previously, the Bishnoi gang had demanded a ransom of $0.27 million (approximately 2 crores), leading to the arrest of a suspect in Mumbai’s Bandra area on October 30.
Indian authorities are currently investigating the origins of this latest threat, with a case registered at a police station in India. The police are actively tracing the phone number from which the threatening message was sent. A post by ANI on social media confirmed that a formal case against the sender has been initiated.
In light of these threats, Salman Khan has heightened his security measures, recently acquiring a second bulletproof SUV. The actor’s new vehicle, a Nissan Patrol SUV imported from Dubai at an estimated cost of $240,000, features advanced safety systems, including bulletproof protection. It is powered by a robust 5.6-liter V8 petrol engine and four-wheel-drive capabilities, serving as a crucial line of defense amid ongoing security concerns.
This marks the second bulletproof vehicle Khan has imported from Dubai in response to the escalating threats from the Bishnoi gang, who have targeted him since his involvement in the controversial 1998 blackbuck poaching case. The blackbuck is a species revered by the Bishnoi community, placing Khan in the crosshairs of the imprisoned gangster.
In recent months, Salman Khan’s security has been significantly intensified as authorities remain vigilant following the murder of Baba Siddique in Mumbai. The actor continues to face serious threats, prompting an expansion of his security detail to ensure his safety amidst the unfolding crisis.
