ISLAMABAD: Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif has hinted at a possible winter power relief package and assured the public of economic benefits as Pakistan braces for colder months. In a recent statement, the Prime Minister outlined government efforts to reduce electricity tariffs and provide more accessible power supply to households across the country during the winter season.
Sharif indicated that the government is in talks with energy producers to ensure a balanced energy distribution, minimizing outages, and easing financial burdens on consumers. The Prime Minister also noted that the winter period provides an opportunity to focus on economic recovery, including the implementation of key reforms that aim to stabilize inflation and increase foreign investments.
“As the temperature drops, we aim to ensure that the power situation remains stable and affordable, while simultaneously working towards strengthening the economy,” said PM Shehbaz Sharif in a televised message.
While the details of the winter relief plan are still being finalized, the announcement has raised hopes among citizens struggling with the rising cost of living, especially in light of the ongoing energy crisis.
