Authorities have implemented extensive roadblocks across Islamabad and Rawalpindi as preparations intensify ahead of Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf’s (PTI) planned protest. Major highways, including those leading to the capital, have been partially or fully sealed, causing significant disruption to commuters.
The protest is expected to draw a large crowd as PTI supporters rally against recent political developments. Key entry and exit points, such as Faizabad Interchange and Murree Road, have been cordoned off using shipping containers, while police have been deployed to maintain law and order.
Public transport has also been affected, with residents of both cities facing difficulties traveling to work or school. Business activities in the twin cities are expected to slow as the protest unfolds.
Officials have urged citizens to avoid unnecessary travel and remain cautious, while PTI leaders have reiterated their commitment to a peaceful demonstration.
