TEHRAN: Iran announced on Sunday plans to engage in nuclear talks with France, Germany, and the United Kingdom, the three European nations behind a recent censure resolution passed by the UN’s International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA).
According to Esmaeil Baghaei, the spokesperson for Iran’s foreign ministry, the meeting is scheduled for Friday and will involve deputy foreign ministers from the respective countries.
“The discussions will encompass a range of regional and international issues, including the situations in Palestine and Lebanon, alongside the nuclear issue,” Baghaei stated in an official release.
The talks follow heightened tensions over Iran’s nuclear program, with Western nations expressing concerns about Tehran’s uranium enrichment activities. Iran, however, maintains that its nuclear program is for peaceful purposes.
This diplomatic engagement comes amid calls for renewed efforts to address regional stability and international security concerns tied to Iran’s nuclear activities.
