Bushra Bibi, wife of former Prime Minister Imran Khan, has declared that protests will persist across the country until her husband’s release from custody. Speaking to supporters outside Zaman Park on Friday, she urged PTI workers and the public to stand firm in their resolve.
“This is not just about Imran Khan; this is about justice, democracy, and the future of Pakistan,” Bushra Bibi stated. She criticized the government for what she called politically motivated actions against Khan and his party, calling his detention “unlawful and unacceptable.”
Protests have intensified nationwide since Imran Khan’s arrest, with demonstrators blocking roads and staging rallies in major cities, including Karachi, Islamabad, and Lahore. PTI leaders have called for restraint but vowed to escalate their campaign if their demands are not met.
The government has yet to issue a formal response to Bushra Bibi’s statements, while security forces remain on high alert to prevent any untoward incidents.
The political crisis shows no signs of abating, as the PTI continues to rally its supporters in what they describe as a fight for Pakistan’s democratic integrity.
