The Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) protest convoy has reached Islamabad’s G-9 area on the third day of its march, with supporters vowing to continue their sit-in until their demands are met.
Led by senior PTI leaders, the convoy began its journey early this morning, traveling through key areas of the capital amidst heavy security arrangements. Thousands of party workers and supporters were seen waving flags and chanting slogans in favor of former Prime Minister Imran Khan.
Addressing the crowd, a PTI leader reiterated the party’s call for immediate general elections, claiming that the current government has lost its mandate. “We are here for the people of Pakistan and will not back down until the public gets its right to elect their leaders,” they declared.
Security in the area has been tightened, with law enforcement agencies deploying additional personnel to maintain order. G-9 and its surrounding areas experienced traffic congestion as roads were partially closed to accommodate the protestors.
The protest is expected to intensify in the coming days as PTI plans to escalate its demonstration. The government, however, has urged the party to engage in dialogue and warned against any unlawful activity that could disrupt public life.
Further developments are awaited as the protest convoy settles in G-9.
