Islamabad: The Federal Investigation Agency (FIA) Immigration on Sunday successfully detained a key suspect in a high-profile human trafficking and visa fraud case at Islamabad Airport, as reported by Express News.
The apprehended individual, identified as Khawar Shehzad, was intercepted upon his arrival from Oman. According to an FIA spokesperson, Shehzad was on the agency’s stop list and had been under investigation by the Anti-Human Trafficking Circle in Lahore.
The case against Shehzad dates back to 2023, involving allegations of receiving substantial sums of money from victims by falsely promising visas, after which he fled the country.
Following his arrest, the suspect was transferred to the FIA’s Anti-Human Trafficking Circle in Lahore for further investigation and legal proceedings.
The arrest marks a significant step in the FIA’s ongoing efforts to combat human trafficking and bring perpetrators to justice.
