In a dramatic departure from its heritage, Jaguar has introduced its all-electric concept car, the “Type 00”, marking a bold new chapter for the iconic British automaker. The unveiling, held at a high-profile event in Miami, Florida, showcased a vehicle that exudes luxury, exclusivity, and flamboyance.
Painted in a striking ‘Miami Pink’ satin finish, the Type 00 features a sleek design over four meters long, with a two-seat fastback coupe layout. Eye-catching details include a long bonnet, a flowing roofline, butterfly-wing doors, and a slatted panoramic roof. Notably, the car lacks a rear window and rests on massive 23-inch wheels, further enhancing its futuristic aesthetic.
Jaguar has abandoned its traditional branding for a more modern and daring logo, signaling its pivot towards competing with high-end EV makers like Tesla, Bentley, and Aston Martin. This shift targets a new, younger customer base, with executives stating that 85% of future buyers will be new to the brand.
Described as “a fearless new face for Jaguar”, the Type 00 is more than just a concept. It sets the tone for Jaguar’s upcoming lineup, which will include three production models. The first, a four-door Grand Tourer, will debut in late 2025 with a range of 478 miles and rapid charging capabilities that can add 200 miles in just 15 minutes.
The Type 00’s name symbolizes “zero emissions” and a bold break from tradition. Jaguar plans to carry this naming scheme forward with models like the Type 01 and Type 02, nodding to its legacy vehicles such as the legendary E-Type of the 1960s.
This striking concept car highlights Jaguar’s ambition to redefine itself in the electric era, combining innovation, style, and exclusivity to challenge its competitors and recapture its status as a trailblazer in luxury automotive design.
