An earthquake of magnitude 5.1 struck Lahore and various cities in Punjab, including Jhelum, Kamalia, and Gujarat, causing widespread panic. Residents rushed out of their homes and buildings as tremors were felt across the region.
Reports confirm that areas such as Nankana Sahib, Jalalpur Bhattian, Wazirabad, Shahkot, Bhalwal, and other nearby cities also experienced the tremors.
According to the National Seismic Monitoring Centre (NSMC), the earthquake’s epicenter was near Kharian, with a depth of 15 kilometers.
Frightened by the sudden quake, many residents were seen reciting Kalma-e-Tayyaba as they sought safety in open spaces.
Thankfully, no casualties or property damage have been reported so far.
