The Pakistan Airports Authority (PAA) announced on Friday that the highly anticipated New Gwadar International Airport is set to open by the end of this month. The PAA confirmed that preparations for the airport’s operations are in their final stages and will be completed shortly.
Zeeshan Saeed, Acting Director General of PAA, along with Deputy DG Airports Sadiq Rehman, recently visited the site to inspect the readiness of the facility. Project Director Faizullah Khattak briefed the officials on the operational status of the airport.
During their visit, the project team also shared insights into the available business opportunities and the economic zones associated with the airport. The Acting DG expressed his satisfaction with the progress and preparations made thus far.
The $246 million airport, built with a grant from China, is equipped with modern facilities, including a large runway and an advanced terminal building capable of accommodating all types of large aircraft. The state-of-the-art airport is expected to serve as a major catalyst for economic growth and trade in the region, positioning Gwadar as a strategic hub for both commerce and connectivity.
