Lahore is set to unveil its first-ever floating restaurant, a unique initiative spearheaded by the Parks and Horticulture Authority (PHA). Located near Harbanspura along the canal, the restaurant is poised to become a major attraction for both residents and tourists.
With a substantial budget of Rs 350 million, the floating establishment will offer an array of facilities, including seating areas, children’s play zones, and recreational amenities, promising an unforgettable dining experience. The PHA has shortlisted three companies for the project’s construction, which is expected to conclude soon.
In other developments, Punjab Transport Minister Bilal Akbar has introduced the “Pink Buses,” exclusively serving female passengers on 16 routes across Lahore. This initiative, part of a broader plan to deploy 300 buses citywide, aims to enhance transportation options for women.
Looking ahead, the minister also announced plans to extend the Bus Rapid Transit (BRT) system to other cities, including Faisalabad, Sialkot, and Multan. These expansions will feature 5,000 to 6,000 buses at each divisional headquarters, marking a significant step in modernizing Punjab’s public transport network.
