Lahore, December 28, 2024 – In a significant crackdown on smuggling, customs officials at Lahore’s Allama Iqbal International Airport seized 37 high-end iPhones worth Rs. 11.5 million. The phones were found hidden in the luggage of a passenger arriving from Dubai, attempting to evade customs duties.
According to sources at the airport, the seizure occurred during routine screening, where officials noticed suspicious activity. Upon inspection, the 37 iPhones, including the latest models, were uncovered.
Customs authorities have launched an investigation to determine whether this is part of a larger smuggling operation. The arrested individual, whose identity has not been disclosed, is currently under interrogation.
