KARACHI: Sindh Governor Kamran Tessori fulfilled his promise of a spectacular New Year celebration by breaking the world record for the longest fireworks display. The dazzling 45-minute show, hosted at the Governor House, surpassed the previous record of 34 minutes, lighting up Karachi’s night sky with vibrant colors.
A large number of citizens gathered to witness the city’s most magnificent fireworks display, marking the arrival of the New Year with great enthusiasm. The breathtaking spectacle left attendees in awe, spreading joy and excitement across the crowd.
Governor Kamran Tessori, currently in Istanbul for a New Year celebration, shared a heartfelt video message with the people of Pakistan. He extended warm wishes for a prosperous 2025, promising to make the coming year one of progress and happiness.
In his message, the Governor unveiled ambitious plans for the province, including providing IT courses to 500,000 children in the coming year. This initiative builds upon his success last year, where 50,000 children received IT training. Tessori emphasized his vision of transforming Sindh into an IT hub, creating new opportunities for youth and addressing critical challenges.
The Governor highlighted that the record-breaking fireworks display was funded privately, without utilizing public taxes or government resources. He drew inspiration from global New Year celebrations in cities like London, Paris, and New York, proudly asserting that Pakistan’s festivities now rival international standards.
Looking ahead, Governor Tessori outlined his priorities for 2025, pledging to tackle pressing issues such as unemployment, water and electricity shortages, and Karachi’s waste problem. His commitment to transforming Karachi into a cleaner, greener, and more vibrant city remains steadfast.
