The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) has confirmed that it will fully comply with the International Cricket Council’s (ICC) uniform regulations for the 2025 Champions Trophy, quashing rumors of objections to including Pakistan’s name on their kits.
BCCI Secretary Devajit Saikia emphasized the board’s commitment to adhering to all ICC rules. “We will follow every uniform-related ICC rule during the Champions Trophy,” Saikia stated to PTI. “Whatever the other teams do regarding the logo and dress code, we are going to follow in true letter and spirit.”
According to ICC guidelines, all participating teams are required to display the tournament’s official logo and the name of the host nation on their kits. Pakistan, the primary host for the 2025 Champions Trophy, will see India’s matches relocated to Dubai, UAE, under a hybrid model approved by the ICC, citing security concerns.
Saikia also addressed questions about Indian captain Rohit Sharma’s participation in the opening ceremony in Pakistan, stating that no decision has been made yet. “Whether Rohit Sharma travels to Pakistan for ICC media engagements is something that’s still undecided,” he added.
This announcement comes amid ongoing discussions about India’s participation in the Champions Trophy, with logistics and security concerns continuing to influence the team’s arrangements.021111111111111111111111111111111111111111
