The Pakistan Navy announced on Sunday that it is “all set” to host the ninth Aman 2025 multinational naval exercise, scheduled from February 7-11. According to an official statement, this year’s event will feature the inaugural Aman Dialogue, a high-profile forum where military leaders from around the world will discuss maritime security challenges.
The Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR) highlighted that over 120 delegations will attend the dialogue, which aims to devise joint strategies to counter evolving threats at sea.
The exercise will see participation from 60 countries, including naval ships, aircraft, and personnel such as special forces, marines, and explosive ordnance disposal experts.
Exercise Phases and Key Features
The Aman 2025 exercise will be divided into harbour and sea phases:
- Harbour Phase: Activities will include seminars, operational discussions, counter-terrorism demonstrations, and pre-sail planning for at-sea evolutions.
- Sea Phase: This phase will feature tactical manoeuvres, anti-piracy and counter-terrorism exercises, search and rescue operations, gunnery firings, air defence drills, and an international fleet review.
The Pakistan Navy emphasized that the event is not only an operational exercise but also a platform to foster global cooperation.
Aman Dialogue and Opening Ceremony
The Aman Dialogue will bring together Chiefs of Naval Forces, Coast Guard heads, and senior military leaders to discuss regional maritime security and collaborative solutions.
The opening ceremony is set to take place at the Pakistan Navy Dockyard, where the Special Service Group (Navy) and Pak Marines will showcase their counter-terrorism capabilities.
Historic Global Participation
Over 4,000 personnel are expected to participate, making it “the most prominent and historic military activity in the region,” according to the ISPR. Joint operations against maritime crimes will also be practiced.
The Navy reiterated its commitment to maritime security under the series’ motto, “Together for Peace.” This year’s theme, Secure Seas; Prosperous Future, underscores the significance of safe seas for global prosperity.
