Popular stand-up comedian Samay Raina has finally spoken out after the controversy surrounding his YouTube show, India’s Got LatentIndia’s Got Latent,, led to legal trouble for its recent panelists, including Ranveer Allahbadia, Apurva Mukhija, Jasprit Singh, and Ashish Chanchlani. The backlash erupted after an inappropriate question was asked on the show, triggering outrage and a formal complaint.

Samay Raina Responds to Backlash
On February 12, Raina took to his Instagram to address the situation, announcing that he has removed all India’s Got Latent videos from his channel.
“Everything that is happening has been too much for me to handle. I have removed all India’s Got Latent videos from my channel. My only objective was to make people laugh and have a good time. I will fully cooperate with all agencies to ensure their inquiries are concluded fairly. Thank you.”
Despite the controversy, Raina is currently occupied with his U.S. and Canada tour, where he continues to perform live stand-up shows.
What Led to the Controversy?
The controversy began on February 10, when a formal complaint was filed against Allahbadia, Mukhija, Raina, Singh, Chanchlani, and the show’s organizers. The complaint, lodged with the Mumbai Commissioner and the Maharashtra Women’s Commission, alleged the use of abusive language on the show.
The backlash was specifically directed at Ranveer Allahbadia, a podcaster with over 10 million YouTube subscribers, after he posed an inappropriate question to a contestant:
“Would you rather watch your parents have s*x every day for the rest of your life or join in once and stop it forever?”
Following severe criticism, Allahbadia issued a public apology, stating that comedy is not his forte.

Launched on June 14, 2024, India’s Got Latent is a YouTube-exclusive show featuring comedians, musicians, and internet celebrities as panelists. The show’s unique format requires contestants to self-rate their performance, with a cash prize awarded if their rating matches the panelists’ score.
Prominent personalities such as Raftaar, Badshah, Siddhant Chaturvedi, Rakhi Sawant, Tony Kakkar, Tanmay Bhat, Bharti Singh, and Haarsh Limbachiyaa have previously appeared as judges.
While some episodes were available for free, exclusive content was accessible only to paid members. However, with the deletion of all episodes, the future of India’s Got Latent remains uncertain.
