Mumbai: Indian actress and entertainer Rakhi Sawant has announced that she will be sponsoring Umrah trips for 10 Pakistanis and 10 Indians, winning praise for her generous gesture.
In a video circulating on social media, Rakhi expressed her desire to help people fulfill their religious obligations, saying, “It is my dream to send my Muslim brothers and sisters for Umrah, regardless of their nationality. This is my way of seeking blessings and doing something good.”
Sawant, who has often been in the news for her controversial statements and dramatic persona, surprised many with this charitable act. She revealed that she has already started the process of selecting individuals for the spiritual journey and will cover all expenses, including airfare, accommodation, and other travel costs.
Her initiative has been widely appreciated, with social media users lauding her for promoting religious harmony and goodwill between India and Pakistan.
This isn’t the first time Rakhi has shown interest in religious matters. Recently, she made headlines for her public devotion to Islam after reports surfaced about her conversion and marriage.
While some critics question her motives, many see this as a noble effort to support those who dream of performing Umrah but lack the financial means.
