The National Highways and Motorway Police (NHMP) have introduced new speed limits for motorways across Pakistan, with strict fines for those who violate the regulations. The updated rules aim to enhance road safety and reduce accidents caused by overspeeding.
Under the new policy, the speed limit for cars remains at 120 km/h, while heavy vehicles such as buses and trucks must not exceed 100 km/h. Additionally, fines for exceeding speed limits have been significantly increased, with repeat offenders facing even harsher penalties.
Authorities have also announced the deployment of advanced speed cameras and an AI-based monitoring system to ensure compliance. Motorway police have urged drivers to adhere to the new limits to avoid penalties and ensure safe travel.
