Saudi Arabia has announced that online registration for Itikaf at Masjid al-Haram in Makkah and Masjid an-Nabawi in Madinah will open on March 5, 2024. The Kingdom’s Ministry of Hajj and Umrah confirmed that worshippers seeking to perform Itikaf during the last ten days of Ramadan 2024 can register through the official Nusuk platform.
Itikaf is a highly spiritual practice where Muslims seclude themselves in the mosque for worship, prayer, and recitation of the Quran. The initiative aims to facilitate worshippers and ensure a smooth experience at Islam’s two holiest sites.
The Ministry has urged applicants to register early, as spots are limited due to high demand. Further details, including guidelines and eligibility criteria, will be available on the Nusuk app and website.
Ramadan is expected to begin on March 11, 2024, subject to moon sighting, with Itikaf starting in the last ten days of the holy month.
