Islamabad: Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif has set an ambitious target of transforming Pakistan’s economy into a $1 trillion powerhouse by 2035. The announcement comes as part of the government’s long-term economic vision aimed at boosting growth, increasing exports, and attracting foreign investment.
Addressing a high-level meeting on economic reforms, PM Shehbaz emphasized the need for structural changes, digital transformation, and industrial development to achieve the target. “Pakistan has the potential to become a trillion-dollar economy, and with the right policies, we can achieve this milestone within the next decade,” he stated.
The government plans to focus on key sectors, including IT, agriculture, and manufacturing, while also strengthening trade ties with global partners. The PM also stressed the importance of political stability and investor confidence in driving sustainable growth.
Experts believe that while the target is ambitious, significant economic reforms, improved governance, and a business-friendly environment will be crucial to making this vision a reality.
