Karachi: The Sindh government has announced a public holiday on April 4, 2024, to commemorate the death anniversary of former Prime Minister and Pakistan Peoples Party (PPP) founder, Zulfikar Ali Bhutto.
According to an official notification, all government offices, educational institutions, and businesses under provincial jurisdiction will remain closed on the day. However, essential services and emergency departments will continue to operate as usual.
Zulfikar Ali Bhutto, a prominent political leader, was executed on April 4, 1979, following a controversial trial. Every year, PPP leaders, workers, and supporters gather at Garhi Khuda Bakhsh in Larkana to pay tribute to Bhutto’s legacy.
The decision to declare April 4 as a public holiday is in line with the Sindh government’s tradition of honoring Bhutto’s contributions to Pakistan’s politics and democracy.
