In the latest Global Safety Index for 2025 released by Numbeo, Pakistan has been ranked as a safer travel destination than India. Pakistan secured the 65th position with a safety index score of 56.3, while India ranked 66th with a score of 55.7.
The index evaluates 146 countries based on various safety factors, including crime rates, public perception of security, and risks associated with theft, violence, and property crimes. The rankings are determined using global surveys and statistical data.
According to the list, Andorra has been ranked as the world’s safest country, followed by the United Arab Emirates, Qatar, Taiwan, and Oman. Meanwhile, Venezuela was deemed the most unsafe country, with a low index score of 19.3.
The rankings also highlight that the United States ranks lower than both Pakistan and India, sitting at 89th place with a safety score of 50.8.
While Pakistan’s improved ranking reflects positive developments in security conditions, global travelers are still advised to check official travel advisories. As of March 2025, the U.S. Department of State has issued a Level 3: Reconsider Travel advisory for Pakistan and a Level 2: Exercise Increased Caution advisory for India.
These rankings indicate progress in Pakistan’s safety perception and may contribute to boosting tourism and international confidence in the country’s security measures.
