The Allama Iqbal Express, traveling from Lahore to Karachi, derailed early this morning near Kotri, causing significant disruption to train services. Fortunately, no casualties have been reported so far, and passengers were safely evacuated from the affected coaches.
Rescue teams, including local police and emergency services, arrived at the scene immediately to assist passengers and assess the damage. Several of the train’s carriages had jumped the tracks, but quick action by railway staff prevented any fatal accidents.
Authorities are currently investigating the cause of the derailment, with initial reports suggesting possible issues with the tracks or mechanical failure. The derailment has caused a temporary suspension of train services in the area, and alternate transportation is being provided to stranded passengers.
The Pakistan Railways has assured the public that a thorough investigation will be conducted to prevent such incidents in the future, and they are working to restore normal services as soon as possible.
