SIALKOT – May 14, 2025:
Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif and Chief of Army Staff (COAS) General Asim Munir made a joint visit to Pasrur Cantonment in Sialkot on Wednesday, underscoring a united civil-military front amid prevailing security and national challenges.
The visit, described by official sources as “symbolic and strategic,” aimed to boost morale among troops and reaffirm the government’s unwavering support for the armed forces. During the visit, the Prime Minister and the Army Chief were briefed on the security situation along the eastern border and ongoing operational preparedness.
Addressing officers and troops at the cantonment, Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif praised the Pakistan Army’s dedication and sacrifices in ensuring national security and sovereignty. “The people of Pakistan stand shoulder to shoulder with their armed forces. Together, we will defeat every internal and external threat,” he said.
General Munir reaffirmed the military’s commitment to the constitution and national unity, emphasizing the importance of collaboration between all state institutions for lasting peace and progress.
This joint appearance comes at a time when Pakistan faces both internal political challenges and heightened regional tensions, sending a strong message of cohesion and resolve from the country’s top leadership.
