Guizhou, China – China is gearing up to unveil the world’s highest bridge, the Huajiang Grand Canyon Bridge, in June 2025. Towering 625 meters (2,051 feet) above the Beipan River in Guizhou province, the record-breaking suspension bridge will surpass the current highest, the Duge Bridge, by a remarkable 60 meters.
Construction on the engineering marvel began in 2022 and is now nearing completion. Stretching 2,890 meters in total length with a main span of 1,420 meters, the bridge will dramatically cut travel time between the Liuzhi and Anlong districts from 70 minutes to just over a minute.
In addition to its transport significance, the Huajiang Bridge is expected to become a major tourist attraction. Features like a glass-bottom walkway, stargazing café, and the world’s highest bungee jump are designed to lure adventurers and sightseers from around the globe.
This landmark project reinforces China’s position as a global leader in advanced infrastructure and bridge engineering.
