Caretaker Prime Minister Anwaar-ul-Haq Kakar expressed a strong commitment to address the issues faced by the province and to promote its development. The prime minister assured a delegation of elders from Balochistan that the progress and prosperity of Pakistan were intricately linked with the growth of the province. The delegation had visited to congratulate him on his assumption of office.
Governor Balochistan Abdul Wali Kakar and Caretaker Chief Minister Ali Mardan Domki were also present during the meeting. Prime Minister Kakar emphasized that his government was prioritizing foreign investment, industrial and agricultural development, and the creation of job opportunities in Balochistan. He specifically underscored his determination to provide equal job prospects for the youth of the province.
Kakar further stated that his administration was dedicated to improving Balochistan’s infrastructure, including electricity, water supply, and other essential resources. He assured the delegation that issues in Kalat and other areas would also be resolved promptly.
The prime minister expressed his strong attachment to Balochistan, referring to Pishin, Mastung, and Quetta as integral parts of his commitment to the province. He announced plans for the construction of a highway connecting Karachi to Chaman, as well as the establishment of a road tunnel from Dera Ghazi Khan to aid the transport of produce from Balochistan to Punjab. Moreover, he emphasized the acceleration of the Kachhi Canal project, which holds significant importance for the region.
During a separate meeting with the Quetta Chamber of Commerce, Prime Minister Kakar highlighted his government’s intention to stimulate an industrial revolution in Balochistan. He mentioned the establishment of the Special Investment Facilitation Council to attract foreign investment to the province. Kakar emphasized the strategic importance of Balochistan due to its vast mineral resources and the Gwadar port.
The prime minister also met with a delegation of vice-chancellors from public sector universities in Balochistan. He stressed the importance of fostering a culture of research and innovation in higher education institutions. Kakar proposed the creation of incubation centers in universities, supported by the industrial sector, to encourage contemporary research and provide trained manpower to fuel an industrial revolution.
Prime Minister Kakar concluded by emphasizing the critical role of the youth and skilled manpower in driving the nation’s progress. He advocated for increased access to higher education to empower young talent to contribute effectively to the country’s advancement.
