ISLAMABAD – Iranian President Masoud Pezeshkian is set to arrive in Pakistan today (Saturday) on an official visit, marking his first trip to the country since assuming office. The high-profile visit is expected to further enhance diplomatic, economic, and cultural ties between the two neighboring nations.
During his stay, President Pezeshkian will hold meetings with President Asif Ali Zardari, Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif, and other top officials. Discussions are likely to cover cross-border trade, energy cooperation, border security, and regional developments, including the situation in the Middle East and Afghanistan.
Pakistan and Iran share a deep-rooted historical, religious, and cultural relationship, and officials hope the visit will pave the way for new agreements and partnerships, particularly in energy and trade sectors.
Strict security measures have been put in place in Islamabad and key cities as part of the protocol arrangements for the Iranian delegation.
