Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif joined global leaders in Beijing today to attend China’s Victory Day Parade, commemorating the country’s triumph in World War II and honoring the sacrifices of the Chinese people.
The event, held at Tiananmen Square, showcased China’s military strength with a grand display of troops, advanced weaponry, and cultural performances. Leaders from across Asia, Africa, Europe, and the Middle East were present, underlining China’s growing diplomatic influence.
Addressing the occasion, PM Shehbaz praised the Pakistan-China friendship as “time-tested and unbreakable,” emphasizing that the two nations continue to stand together in times of peace and challenge. He noted that Pakistan values China’s role in global stability and regional cooperation.
Chinese President Xi Jinping, while welcoming international dignitaries, reaffirmed China’s commitment to peace, sovereignty, and multilateralism, calling the parade a symbol of resilience and unity.
The Prime Minister’s presence at the parade reflects Pakistan’s deepening ties with China, especially in the context of the China-Pakistan Economic Corridor (CPEC) and broader strategic partnership.
