Islamabad, October 8, 2025 — Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Ishaq Dar confirmed on Tuesday that ex-Senator Mushtaq Ahmad will return to Pakistan on October 9.
Dar said Ahmad, who was recently released from Israeli detention after participating in the Global Sumud Flotilla, is currently safe and in high spirits at the Pakistan Embassy in Amman, Jordan. He added that all necessary arrangements for his repatriation have been made by the Foreign Office.
Speaking in a social media post, Dar expressed gratitude to all nations that assisted during the process and emphasized that the embassy would provide full support for Mushtaq Ahmad’s journey home.
Ahmad had earlier described harsh conditions during his detention, including being blindfolded, shackled, and denied basic necessities. He has vowed to share a detailed account of his experience upon return.
