Bangladesh has reportedly finalized a $2.2 billion agreement with China to purchase 20 advanced J-10C multirole fighter jets, a major step in modernizing its air force. The deal includes aircraft, weapons systems, training, and maintenance support from Chinese defense firms.
Defense analysts suggest the move aims to enhance Bangladesh’s aerial defense capabilities amid growing regional tensions and evolving security dynamics in South Asia. The J-10C, known for its agility and cutting-edge radar systems, is also used by China and Pakistan.
While officials in Dhaka have not yet issued a formal statement, sources indicate the delivery of the first batch is expected within two years.
