Islamabad (12 Oct 2025) — Pakistan has reportedly rejected Afghanistan’s request for a ceasefire, amid growing tensions along the shared border.
According to government sources, Islamabad stated that any ceasefire can only be considered once Kabul takes concrete action against terror groups operating from Afghan soil.
The decision comes after a series of cross-border incidents that have heightened security concerns in Pakistan’s frontier regions. Officials emphasized that Pakistan’s response is focused on national security and defense of its sovereignty.
Afghan authorities have not yet issued an official statement regarding Pakistan’s stance.
