RAWALPINDI – The Punjab government has approved a comprehensive infrastructure plan worth Rs. 6.6 billion for Rawalpindi, featuring the construction of multiple new flyovers and underpasses across key intersections of the city.
According to official sources, the initiative aims to reduce chronic traffic jams, particularly along major routes such as Murree Road, Liaquat Bagh, and Sixth Road. The new projects will also enhance urban mobility and road safety for thousands of daily commuters.
Authorities have confirmed that feasibility studies and design work are already underway, with construction expected to begin early next year. The Rawalpindi Development Authority (RDA) will oversee the execution of the plan.
Citizens have welcomed the announcement, expressing hope that the long-awaited upgrades will modernize the city’s transport network and bring much-needed relief to motorists.
