PESHAWAR: Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Chief Minister Sohail Afridi has said that former Prime Minister Imran Khan continues to influence Pakistan’s political and administrative affairs even while imprisoned.
Addressing reporters after a provincial cabinet meeting, the Chief Minister stated that Imran Khan’s “vision, ideology, and leadership” remain the guiding force for the government in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa.
“Imran Khan may be in jail, but his control over the system is intact through his ideology and the loyalty of millions of supporters,” Afridi said. “Every policy we implement reflects his direction and political wisdom.”
Afridi further added that the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) remains united under Khan’s leadership and that his political influence continues to shape decisions across the country.
He also dismissed reports of internal rifts within the party, saying that PTI’s strength lies in its unwavering commitment to Khan’s vision for justice, accountability, and reform.
The statement comes amid ongoing political uncertainty and speculation about the former prime minister’s future role in national politics.
