Makkah: In a historic milestone, Saudi Arabia has hosted more than 11 million Umrah pilgrims in a single month, reflecting the Kingdom’s continued efforts to enhance services and infrastructure for visitors to the Two Holy Mosques.
According to the Saudi Ministry of Hajj and Umrah, the surge in pilgrim arrivals comes as part of the Kingdom’s Vision 2030 initiative, which aims to expand religious tourism and improve the overall pilgrimage experience. Enhanced visa facilities, digital platforms, and efficient transportation networks have contributed to the remarkable increase.
Officials stated that the holy cities of Makkah and Madinah witnessed record numbers of worshippers performing Umrah and visiting key religious sites. Additional crowd management and safety measures were implemented to ensure smooth movement and comfort for all pilgrims.
Saudi authorities reaffirmed their commitment to providing world-class facilities and a spiritually fulfilling environment for every pilgrim visiting the Kingdom.
