Quetta/Beijing: In a major development under the China-Pakistan Economic Corridor (CPEC) framework, China has announced plans to build 100 hospitals and several economic zones across Balochistan, aimed at boosting healthcare infrastructure and regional development.
According to official sources, the initiative will focus on improving medical facilities in remote areas, creating thousands of jobs, and promoting industrial growth through new economic and trade zones. The project is expected to significantly enhance living standards and economic opportunities in Pakistan’s largest province.
Chinese officials emphasized that the program reflects Beijing’s commitment to Pakistan’s social and economic progress, while Pakistani authorities hailed it as a transformative step for Balochistan’s long-term prosperity.
Construction is set to begin in phases, with priority given to underdeveloped districts lacking access to modern healthcare and industrial facilities.
