In a major development for Pakistan cricket, the Pakistan Super League (PSL) has officially confirmed its expansion to eight teams for the upcoming Season 11. The move comes after months of speculation and is aimed at widening the league’s reach and competitiveness.
According to PSL officials, the expansion will bring in two new franchises, with cities such as Sialkot, Faisalabad, and Hyderabad reportedly under consideration. The inclusion of new teams is expected to increase fan engagement, commercial opportunities, and player participation across the country.
In addition to team expansion, the PSL will also feature six hosting venues for the first time in its history. The confirmed cities include Karachi, Lahore, Rawalpindi, Multan, Peshawar, and Quetta, marking a significant step toward taking top-tier cricket to more regions in Pakistan.
PSL Chairman expressed excitement about the announcement, stating,
“The league has grown beyond expectations. Expanding to eight teams and six venues will not only strengthen local talent but also enhance the fan experience across Pakistan.”
Season 11 of the PSL is set to kick off in early 2026, with a revamped format and schedule to be announced soon.
